Thank you for your reply. My sons name is Emil right after his grandfather. It made me smile when I heard about Emilia, maybe we can marry them in some years, hihi.

Please don't thank me for reading, I thank you for writing - your book is among my top 5 =D

I wish you a wonderful christmas with your familiy!

Warm regards

Nicole

P.S.: I read your article about the ... and I used them quite often, but I absolutely agree and try to come back the traditional punctuations ;)

Dear Frances,
I just caught up on your blog and saw the news about your baby. Congratulations! Now I know why there wasn't anything between August and November. How lovely to have her there for Christmas! Gayle

Thank you Nicole!
I'm so happy you enjoyed the book, and that it brings back memories of your pregnancy. Congratulations on your little boy. Our little one is 6 weeks now and she is a handful! I hope my next work will be out in the next few years. I will let you know! Thanks again for reading!

Dear Frances,

congratulations to your baby girl. I've just been checking if could find another book of you than the seamtress and came to your internet site. Our boy is 14 month now and I read your book when I was pregnant (told my husband that a pregnant woman should always get what she wants :) )and therefor it's related to one of the best times in my life. I love the book and I am really looking forward to your next work. But as a mom probably it will take a while, haha...

Best wishes to you and your family,

Nicole (Germany)

Thank you! What a nice comment!
I'm so happy for you and your wife. I am wishing you both a healthy pregnancy and a speedy and easy delivery. (As easy as deliveries can be, of course!)

Barto was sold to another farmer. He was such a great pig. We don't know his fate, but he was castrated which doesn't bode well. But the years he spent with us were, I hope, happy ones for him. He had plenty of good food, his own bachelor pad, a full-time cleaning staff, and five girlfriends.

Thank you for reading my work and the blog. I'm sorry my posts are so sporadic!

Best wishes from Taquaritinga!

Congrats to you all. Fantastic news! I love this blog (and I don't read blogs often), and I've been a fan of your writing for years. Amazing stuff. My wife is expecting (I guess I am too!). Strange and exciting times. Emilia - what a beautiful name. She's going to live a very rich and exciting life - the daughter of one of the truly finest writers out there.

Best wishes from Charleston, South Carolina. And welcome, Emilia!

PS - I hope that blank firing pig, Barto or whatever, hasn't been "harvested" yet. Poor bastard.

I *tried* to read Autobiography of a Face. I got as far as a scene where Lucy stumbles upon an animal testing lab in a hospital, gently closed the book and politely returned it to the library. It is probably a powerful book, but it was not a space I wanted to enter.

Hi, Gail.
Thank you for your comment/message. Yes, we are surviving! There are many tough days, as I'm sure you know having lived on a farm yourself. We hope to stay about 1 more year to build the business and then head back to the US. I'm currently pregnant with our first child and, although I want her to know and love the farm, I also want to give her all of the educational opportunities the US has to offer. We hope the farm will be thriving by then and we can leave it in good hands while we are away.

My husband James visited Idaho (for a class at the Dietrich Coffee Roasting Company) and he says it is just gorgeous. Thanks again for your message! I hope you enjoy my book, and are enjoying the end of summer in Idaho.
Abraços,
Frances
